FILM

Katey Bright FILM '05 edited a film that is an official selection of the Newport Beach Film Festival, and had its World Premiere April 25.

Vernon Mortensen FILM '00 has had his latest film, Chamaco, accepted to the Palm Springs International Film Festival. It was produced in association with Rogue Arts in Los Angeles, the same movie company that will be producing a new western, The Sorrow, a feature film written by Mortensen and slated to be directed by him this spring. Mortensen has also finished production on the first three episodes of the new horror/sci-fi Web series, Universal Dead, an apocalyptic zombie story starring DB Sweeney, Doug Jones, Gary Graham and Cade Courtley. Mortensen served as director and producer for the series. Previously, Mortensen was involved in a the hilariously funny web series The Crusader, starring Colin Cunningham, Matt Bradley and Gary Graham. Mortensen directed and produced the project. The entire eight episode series will be available on DVD in early 2010.
