UPCOMINGToyota Lecture Series: Todd OldhamA truly transdisciplinary designer, Todd Oldham’s portfolio
includes environmental design, photography, graphic
design, product design and film. Oldham is best known for
his work with La-Z-Boy, Target, MTV and as host of Top
Design on the Bravo television network. Oldham recently
served as art director of Charley Harper—An Illustrated
Life, the definitive monograph of artist Charley Harper,
beloved for his delightful, graphic and often humorous
illustrations of nature, animals, insects and people alike.
During his lecture, Oldham will discuss both his own work
and his collaboration with Harper in editing and designing
the title, published by AMMO Books. Due to the overwhelming
interest in this event, reservations are mandatory.
RSVP to 626.396.2386. Car Classic: Call for VolunteersMembers of the Art Center community are needed for a
fantastic volunteer opportunity — Art Center Car Classic’07, “Dream Machines: Imaginations Gone Wild.” As a
volunteer, you will have the opportunity to see some of the
finest cars in the world up close and personal. Car Classic
will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 10:00 am to
4:00 pm. We are looking for volunteers to work in fourhour
shifts between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. The types of job
responsibilities include event set-up, guest check-in, meeting
and greeting guests, and break-down after the event. If
you are interested in learning more about or assisting with

EcoCouncil’s Tune Up Bike DownEcoCouncil is having a bike tune up day! Come out for a
pleasant afternoon of grease, gears, tires, snacks and drinks!
Learn the basics of bicycle maintenance, get your bike-related
questions answered. Come join us even if you don't have a
bike. Volunteers will be tuning your bike, fixing flats, making
your bike what it once was before being put into storage.
Later, join us for a leisurely ride around the Rose Bowl at 5:00

PAVE Student Design CompetitionPAVE’s 2007 Student Design Competition is sponsored by Sony
Electronics Inc. This annual competition, now in its 13th year,
is geared toward college-level students involved in retail planning,
merchandising, and branding programs. Keep in mind
that all entries will not be returned and winning entries will
become property of the sponsor (Sony Electronics). Students
are advised to keep a copy of their entries. BulletinThe Bulletin is published weekly by the Marketing and Communications Department.
